Quick Summary
A major Heroes of Might and Magic: Olden Era balance update is planned for next week.
According to the latest community update, the patch should include changes to schism, necropolis, grove, several template updates, new templates, bug fixes, and improvements to the Necromancy UI.
This could become one of the most important PvP updates so far, especially because it touches both faction balance and map templates at the same time.
Official Update
Next week, we are planning to release a major balance update for Olden Era. Among various bug fixes, there are changes to Schism and Necropolis, adjustments to Grove and some template changes, including new ones coming to the game. We're also updating the Necromancy UI to make it easier to interact with.
The announcement also mentioned that Heroes Orchestra will perform Olden Era themes live at the Musical Gardens Festival in Warsaw on Saturday, July 25, 2026.
Why This Might Be Happening
The mentioned targets make sense from the current PvP perspective.
schism has been one of the most discussed factions in the competitive scene and current S-rank, so we might see nerf actions.
necropolis is another obvious candidate because its identity depends heavily on Necromancy. Many top players and streamers consider it overpowered. Updating the Necromancy UI might be a code phrase to actual nerfs too.
grove adjustments are also worth watching. Grove has a very specific tempo and scaling profile for their straightforward Magic and Spell Power focus.
The most interesting part may be the template changes. In PvP Single Hero, templates shape everything: resource access, zone break timing, faction performance, and how quickly players meet. New templates could change the meta even without huge faction reworks.
What to Expect in the PvP Scene
This patch could shake up the current PvP ladder in several ways.
Many top players and streamers tend to test new strats during live-actions, we all hope for a new content with a pinch of boldness and luck!
