Expert Guides for HoMM Olden Era (Patch 9)

HoMM: Olden Era features dedicated competitive map templates for both Single Hero and Classic multiplayer modes — the spiritual successors to the iconic Jebus Cross and Jebus Outcast templates from Heroes of Might and Magic III. Each template defines the world layout, resource distribution, and match pacing. Knowing the template you're playing is essential for choosing the right faction and adapting your strategy from the very first turn.

Olden Era maps are filled with interactive objects that reward players who know how to use them. There are three main categories: combat objects that guard resources or artifacts and must be defeated before the reward is claimed; non-combat objects that provide immediate utility or passive benefits without a fight; and creature dwellings that produce recruitable units each week. Prioritising the right objects during map traversal is a key skill at every level of play.
