Quick Summary
A main power stack is a large or heavily upgraded creature stack that represents one of the main threats in your army.
It should be capable of killing many neutral armies in a single attack, dealing major damage to an opponent, or remaining dangerous until the end of a battle.
What are other names for a main stack?
The most common terms are:
- main stack;
- power stack;
- carry stack;
- damage stack;
- primary stack.
A main stack and a power stack usually mean the same thing: the creature stack your army relies on most.
Can I have more than one main stack?
Yes. Your army can have several main stacks.
For example, one stack may deal most of your immediate damage, while another remains a major threat because of its speed, range, durability, spells, or special abilities.
Does my main stack change during the game?
Yes. Different creatures can become your main stack during the early, middle, and late stages of a match.
An early-game unit may initially carry your army because you can recruit many of them quickly. Later, a higher-tier creature may replace it after you build its dwelling, upgrade it, and accumulate enough weekly growth.
How does hero specialization affect my main stack?
A hero specialization can determine which creature becomes your main stack.
Some heroes provide major bonuses to a specific unit, such as improved damage, health, speed, or other combat stats. Because of these bonuses, a normally average creature may become the most important stack in that hero’s army.
