This is a generalized ranking suitable for a wide range of players. Some heroes can be stronger as counterpicks or situational choices in high-end competitive drafts, and that is also considered during the assessment.

Dungeon Heroes Tier List for Olden Era Patch 12

Remember that this is a generalized ranking. Draft phase, map template, player skill, faction matchup, and comfort with specific strategies can all change the value of a hero.

Dungeon Heroes Explained

S Tier

• stinger - Stinger unlocks a unique heroic strike focused playstyle. With this hero, combat becomes your main source of damage for difficult fights against many T6 and T7 units, as well as important map objects. Around levels 5–7, Stinger can clear almost any map object if you use 7x1 army stacks correctly. The downside is obvious: Stinger is one of the most banned Dungeon heroes during the draft phase.

• typhona - Typhona’s hydra specialty gives Dungeon excellent early tempo, strong zone break potential, and real final battle power. Hydras can tank dangerous fights, open access to richer zones, and protect your main army from unnecessary trades. Once you get a few 1-stack chthonic-hydra units, you can win many difficult fights thanks to their full health regeneration passive ability.

A Tier

• devir_son_of_devir - Devir’s minotaur specialty provides strong early tempo, good zone break potential, and saves a lot of gold. The main value comes from the one-shot retaliation combat style: a stack of around 25–40x minotaur-lord units is often enough for clean neutral armies and many map objects. Minotaurs are not as dominant in the final battle compared to some other A-tier heroes, but Devir compensates with impressive map tempo and scouting potential.

• enatee - Enatee’s medusa specialty gives Dungeon strong early tempo, zone break potential, and better final battle damage. Ranged units are often treated as off-stacks, but with Enatee, Medusas can become a real main stack and provide much more consistent value throughout the game.

• kelarr_son_of_navarr - Kelarr does not provide the strongest earliest tempo, but the hero has excellent mid-game and huge late-game potential. XP-based heroes are commonly rated from S to A tier across many factions and patches because faster leveling can improve every part of your game plan: scouting, fights, skill access, and final battle strength.

• zakron_the_great - Zakron is a strong Magic-focused Dungeon hero, and the Patch 12 buffs to sorcery make this playstyle even more attractive. High Mana Pool and Spell Power can create good early tempo, strong zone break potential, and dangerous final battle impact. His spells can be devastating, but Dungeon does not have easy mana regeneration tools like schism Laws. That means early-game execution requires good planning, especially if you want to maintain frequent combat spell usage and second-wind.

B Tier

• gleard_the_grey - Gleard is ranked higher than most other Dungeon Magic specialists because temporal-spheres can help with early tempo and difficult map-object clears. However, the hero’s value becomes less obvious in the mid and late game. Gleard does not directly improve final battle army power, and using temporal-spheres well against a human opponent requires planning, precision, and good execution.

• kieran - Kieran’s troglodyte specialty improves the earliest tempo, but the value drops in mid and later stages of the game. Troglodytes cannot be upgraded into a ranged unit and usually fail to become a strong long-term off-stack. Kieran is playable, but the hero does not scale as well as the stronger Dungeon options.

• motley - Motley is currently placed in B tier as a playable but less defining Dungeon hero. This is not a weak choice, but Motley does not offer the same clear early tempo, zone break power, or final battle identity as the higher-ranked heroes. Meta shifted and even maxed-out twilight doesn't win fights. Also Motley is lacking Mana Pool for a frequent cast.

C Tier

• lodos, sunny_rauktol, tellaris_the_betrayed, mouaren, rhea, sister_deira

These heroes are not unplayable, but they are usually less efficient in the current Patch 12 meta. They can still work in specific matchups, drafts, or comfort-based strategies, but they are harder to recommend as default Dungeon picks.

F Tier

• glastor, creta_daughter_of_navarr - Economy-focused heroes are among the least picked and least impactful options in the current meta. Their bonuses are usually not strong enough to provide notable early tempo, zone break potential, or final battle power. This is partly because current map templates are rich in free resources, Pandora boxes, and heavy map fighting, which makes direct combat value more important than slow economy scaling.

• ylwari - RNG-based gameplay is heavily outperformed by fixed bonuses in the current meta. This is especially true for Luck, which is much less reliable than Morale. Luck can be treated as a chance for extra damage, while Morale gives an extra turn and can often be worth much more in practical combat situations. Fixed bonuses are simply easier to plan around.

How to Use This Tier List

Use this tier list as a starting point, not as a strict rule.

If you are new to Dungeon, start with S-tier or A-tier heroes because their strengths are easier to convert into real map tempo. If you are more experienced, some lower-tier heroes can still work as comfort picks, draft surprises, or matchup-specific choices.

For competitive Single Hero games, the safest Dungeon picks are the ones that can do three things well:

1. clear the map efficiently;

2. break into richer zones without losing too much army;

3. remain relevant in the final PvP battle.
